Mission
The OAES PTO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to creating a stronger connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement and enhancing the educational experience at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School. We offer support for academic and enrichment activities and help to improve the environment at our school by providing volunteer and financial support.

EMILY CRIM - PTO PRESIDENT
Emily Crim is the PTO Board President and is excited to serve in her third year on PTO. She has lived in Athens for over 20 years, and with her husband has two children; a 4th grader and Kindergartener in the DLI program at OAES.

KYMBERLI CULVER - PTO VICE PRESIDENT
Kymberli Culver is the PTO Vice President. Kymberli lived in Athens from 1997-2006 and returned with her family in 2018. She is married to her husband, Phillip, and they together have four children: three boys (Jaiden - 21, Jase - 17, Jackson - 13), and a 9 year old daughter at OAES, Aray Jamison.
Kymberli Culver is the PTO Vice President. Kymberli lived in Athens from 1997-2006 and returned with her family in 2018. She is married to her husband, Phillip, and they together have four children: three boys (Jaiden - 21, Jase - 17, Jackson - 13), and a 9 year old daughter at OAES, Aray Jamison.

SELAH GARDINER - PTO COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Selah Gardiner is enthusiastic to begin her first year serving Wildcat families, students, and
staff as the Communications Offer for PTO. She is the parent of a second grader in the DLI program and has lived in Athens for 6 years with her husband and son. She (not-so-secretly)
dreams of recreating the "Shiny Happy People" video in front of our school's very special
mural.

KATHLEEN FALKE - PTO MEMBER AT LARGE
Kathleen has lived in Athens for 25 years and has been an OAES parent for 8 years. She and
her husband Dave have two Oglethorpe Wildcats, one in Pre-K and one in 4th grade, as well as an OAES alumni now at BHL. In her free time she enjoys riding bikes and going on
adventures with her family, who all feel very fortunate to have landed in the wonderful
OAES community.
Kathleen has lived in Athens for 25 years and has been an OAES parent for 8 years. She and
her husband Dave have two Oglethorpe Wildcats, one in Pre-K and one in 4th grade, as well as an OAES alumni now at BHL. In her free time she enjoys riding bikes and going on
adventures with her family, who all feel very fortunate to have landed in the wonderful
OAES community.
APRIL ROMERO - PTO TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE
April Romero is excited to join PTO this year as a PTO Teacher Representative. Originally
from Miami, FL, April is in her third year teaching at OAES. She began in 5th grade before moving to second grade DLI, where she will continue this year. She lives with her dog, Turbo, and her fiancée, Vince, to whom she will be married later this fall. April is excited to get to be more involved with the school community this year through PTO.

Carrie Bette-Duncan started at OAES in the middle of the pandemic and continues teaching 4th grade DLI Spanish. Her husband and her moved to Athens over 20 years ago, and this is year 20 for her teaching in the Clarke County School District. She has two daughters, the youngest a senior at Clarke Central High School. She has enjoyed being a part of PTOs in different buildings as a parent and teacher.
